The Sycamore High School Science Department was in dire need of a complete makeover. After thoroughly evaluating the specific needs of this project, our experienced team at VSWC Architects worked with stakeholders to design a 21st-century learning environment that meets the needs of today’s students and staff. With cutting-edge design elements and a spatially-pleasing layout, this space balances light, color, and shape to help promote learning, collaboration, and inclusion.
This high school science department has been upgraded with state-of-the-art displays and equipment. Each room has USB power outlets and Wifi. The 65” displays are compatible with the students' Chrome Books with a 1:1 wireless display interface. Several walls, casework surfaces and tables include whiteboard writing surfaces. Classroom lights are dimmable and programmable. In addition to these functional design features, the corridors and classrooms all contain vibrant and inspiring wall graphics that display science concepts and quotes, igniting excitement and a passion for learning and teaching.
VSWC Architects subsists on a spirit of innovation and collaboration. Working with clients who encompass these same values, such as Sycamore Community Schools, becomes the catalyst for successful projects which truly serve the needs of today's students, as well as tomorrow's.
