TMP was chosen to design a cutting-edge wing at this private preparatory school that focused on group work and hands on learning.
Within the wing, science classrooms allow for small group collaboration and flexibility and new collaborative learning classrooms are fluid spaces that focus on student comfort and the ability to easily complete group work.
A fine arts studio takes advantage of natural light with windows overlooking the courtyard and lots of wall and floor space. The high school studio also includes a kiln room and a gallery.
A greenhouse supporting the school’s botany program features 4 growing systems: 3 hydroponic and 1 traditional. Outdoor learning pods and planting beds were installed around the site for an exterior addition to the botany program.
The 1,230 SF robotics lab was of special importance as Notre Dame’s robotics programs are world-ranked. The lab features indoor and outdoor workspaces and mobile work stations that allow for computer-aided instruction. When additional space is needed, a glass overhead door can be opened to expand into an adjacent classroom.
The addition carefully matched existing brick colors and used large glass expanses to give the new addition a distinct style while blending into one cohesive school.
