Stevens Creek Elementary is part of Lake Stevens School District’s (LSSD) vision to deliver a consistent flow of progressive education, starting with pre-k and continuing to a future middle school. Just as water flows from the watershed, to the stream, and to the lake, Stevens Creek’s students begin in the Early Learning Center, growing academically, socially, emotionally, and physically as they flow to the Elementary School, and eventually to the Middle School. As students develop and flow through their educational path, nature-inspired imagery also grows in scale and complexity along with them to inspire further curiosity about our natural environment. Spaces are designed for shared activities, collaboration, exploration, discovery, and self-directed learning. Collaborative spaces in a variety of scales, including the Makerspace and Learning Commons, are prominently featured at the heart of the school and connect all of the learning neighborhoods. Students are empowered to choose the environment that works best for their learning style, whether it be the Reading Cave or the Campus Gardens.
