The Williams Center at SUNY Fredonia was originally designed in the late 1960's and was last renovated in 2008. Working with the Faculty Student Association, LaBella Associates documented the 11,000 square foot Ground Floor Dining area now known as “Willy C's”. The roughly three-month construction process included a complete gut of the interior finishes and a replacement of the current color scheme with more “Fredonia-like” colors which include light blues, brown, tan and other earth-tones. Our interior designers worked to create a more high tech area with modern finishes and custom graphics to help promote the College while improving acoustics and lighting in the below grade circular space. LaBella also designed and specified new furnishings to enhance technology and offer flexibility for different events, not just meals. The spacious seating area has been configured to encourage socialization and community. Patrons can choose between traditional tables and chairs, picnic-style tables, booths, benches and bar-style tables. An electric fireplace on the building’s north side is the focus of the seating area, and is flanked by three large-screen televisions. The servery area was updated with a new kiosk ordering system, new display areas and reconfigured food service equipment to improve efficiency and appearance.
