Overall Site Plan: The new IDEA building nestles around the existing school and chapel, atop a hill with dynamic views.

1st Floor Plan: A continuous spatial progression from east to west through the building heightens flexibility and transparency.

2nd Floor Plan: A compact floor plan maximizes cross-curricular collaboration and available space for community use.

Schematic Site Analysis: Views to and from the building elevate the spirit and connect students with nature.

North Elevation: Shaded north glazing provides views to nature while displaying programs. A “portal” above the lobby provides a symbolic connection to the chapel beyond.

Roof Terrace: The architecture blurs the boundary between indoors and outdoors. A two-story height interior illuminated stained glass art piece anchors the building.

Chapel Courtyard: Terraced seating allows for social gatherings in front of the soon-to-be renovated chapel. The south façade of the IDEA building is on left.

These two courtyards were a part of the project scope, but within the existing school. They were informed by the Kaplan's Attention-Restoration Theory.

This reclaimed interior-illuminated stained glass window depicts Saint Joseph the Worker as inspiration for students as they work their own crafts.
