Building is sited at the edge of the woods to preserve the meadows and create outdoor learning spaces adjacent to the building. The main entrance is accessed by two foot bridges travel over stormwater swales.

Plan was divided into two classroom wings for the "Littles" (preK- 3) and the Uppers (4-8). There are small break out spaces between every classroom to support 21st century learning. The All School room is placed at the center and building was sited to create a protected southern facing courtyard.

The building fits within the landscape and is protected from neighbors. Natural playgrounds are placed around the entire perimeter of the building. Building scale was minimized for the younger students

The entire building included large windows to connect to the natural outdoors. Large clerestory pop up windows were designed to bring natural light to all interior common spaces.

Students and building visitors access the main entry by using the footbridges that pass over stormwater treatment areas which is a learning opportunity and creates an experiential experience.

Students enter into a brightly lighted, open space that has views to the natural exterior landscape. Natural wood was used and many curves added to the interior to soften the space.

The staff really promoted wanting a comfy feeling at the entrance. This photo shows the self serve kitchen just inside the front door.

The All school room provides functional collaborative space that the staff use for many uses. It is sited at the very center of the building and serves as the heart of the school. It opens to the sunny southern protected exterior courtyard play area.

The students excel when they are engaged and we have two secret bookcase doors that lead into "secret rooms".

This is not your typical music room. This design supports how the staff want to teach and have the students learn on their own. Built in risers can be used by a single musician or a group. The space is flexible in how it can be used.

The building was sited to fit within the landscape but also connect to the exterior. Every inch around the exterior of the building is used. The site use spirals out from the building and the students and staff have created outdoor camp areas that they go to during the school day.
