With a building constructed in the early 1970s, the district recognized the need to enhance the student and community experience. They convened a series of sessions with students, faculty, and community members to reimagine the facility requirements. The outcomes improved the arts and health and wellness programs. These areas have become a source of pride for both students and members of the community.
Renovating the auditorium and lobby enhanced the experience and gives students exposure to technological advancements, expanding their knowledge base for the future. In the renovated auditorium lobby, the history of the neighborhood and school are commemorated by featuring vintage photographs, mementos, and recovered sections of the gymnasium's previous flooring.
The installation of the track and fitness facility enhances the student experience by providing each student with a space to study and experience health and wellness. This area contains a weight room, a multipurpose room, and an indoor track with a view of the gymnasium. The room is open to both students and residents on evenings and weekends, when not being utilized during the school day.
These renovations and additions have not only increased community pride in the school but will continue to benefit future students.
