Work to renovate Walla Walla High School Campus was made possible by a successful bond in November 2018 with assistance from Architects West and the Wenaha Group. Further, Architects West and the Wenaha Group assisted Walla Walla Public Schools in petitioning the State of Washington to allow this project to be conducted via the GC/CM delivery method. All work performed by Jackson Contractor Group under multiple bid packages and multiple phases.
Work was completed over multiple phases. The infrastructure package work occurred first, followed by Phase 1 work for construction of the new 18,000 sf, 8 classroom science building. Phase 2 work was the additions and modernizations to seven buildings and campus-wide site work.
Work included renovation of eight buildings totaling 37,846 sf of new construction additions and 146,223 sf of modernizations.
Site work included replacement of aging site and utility infrastructure, frontage improvements, and improvements to parking, traffic circulation, pedestrian circulation, and landscaping.
Site work includes size new parking lots totaling 629-car parks, bus loops, and a central courtyard core area, and a pedestrian bridge crossing Yellowhawk Creek.
