The site plan for Sun Prairie West High School features the forested area on the south end of the school, two adjacent neighborhoods on both the east and west sides, and highway 19 north of the school.

The main level floor plan plan features numerous amenities and educational opportunities for students with connectivity and transparency throughout all areas of the school.

The second level floor plan features the library media center, learning communities, and special education which is also incorporated in all the learning community areas.

The third level floor plan features learning communities and student services, creating an entire third story of academics.

The commons area is a 2-story hub and heart of the school, featuring learning stairs that provide additional seating and connect to second-floor LMC, visible second-floor walking track, and high windows bringing in natural light.

The knowledge market includes classrooms for woods, auto/machines, 2-D art, 3-D art and photography as well as career and technical education course. An open collaboration area connects the spaces with displays showcasing student projects and group workspace. This is prominently placed in the school to create awareness of the programs and encourage student participation.

The centralized courtyard provides natural light to many spaces and outdoor gathering, eating, and learning spaces for students and staff.

The learning community commons space is centralized to the classrooms and includes a 21st century technology bar, project area, and flexible furniture.

The distributed dining space features flexible seating for both eating and collaboration space.

The main entrance and front of school has a student drop off-pick up separate lane along with faculty and visitor parking to the right and student parking to the left. The Performing Arts Center entrance is on the left, the main school entrance is in the middle, and the athletics entrance is on the right. From inside the school, all areas can be reached but from the outside, separate entrances are provided for community members.

The learning community commons area includes flexible furniture and whiteboards for learning.

The Performing Arts Center lobby is a welcoming area for both students/faculty and community members, featuring a ticket stand, floor to ceiling windows and seating.

The Performing Arts Center includes seating for 824 guests, a scene shop, a full fly backstage area, an orchestra pit, and is fully ADA accessible.

The 8-lane competition pool includes seating for 300 athletes on the pool deck and seating for up to 600 spectators on the deck and mezzanine. School branding is located on the wall behind the bleachers.

The athletic commons is attached to the school but also has a separate entrance. The corridor includes a double-sided trophy case with the north gym on the other side and branding. The pool entrance is through the doors on the left.

The competition gym with three basketball courts ahs 30 rows of branded bleachers on each side and can seat 2,100+ spectators. Two overhead doors link the gym to the commons area to ease the flow of students and spectators.
